Boar Trail

Boar Trail

#1

The trail starts from the gate at the raspberry patch, turn left after leaving the gate, walk to the water tank and then keep to the right

01

Start

The beginning of the trail is from the gate near the raspberries, after leaving this gate turn left, go to the water tank and after it keep to the right. On the mountain at the light metal gate there will be a fork where you need to keep to the right again. Continuing along the mountain, you will gradually descend down to the paved road.

02

Finish

A little lower, at the cross, you can choose the first or the second branch: the first will take you back to the gate where you started (keep to the right), and the second will take you past the Roman chapel to the lower garden of the Quinta.

Round walk to river Lima throw Lagoas

Round walk to river Lima throw Lagoas

#6

More than 3 hour

Circular route through the village, the Lagoash Nature Reserve and the bank of the Lima River

01

Village church

We start from the main gate and follow the middle road straight down to our village church in the distance. You can always hear its bells.

02

Lagoas

Past the church and two other chapels, the road takes you to the entrance of the protected forest, where you will walk along the well-prepared paths of the nature reserve.

03

Lima river

Descend to the ecotrail along the Lima River, then return to the narrow streets of our village and past cosy houses and gardens to the main entrance of our quinta. If you don’t want to stop anywhere, it can be done in 2.5 or 3 hours, but of course you will want to stop somewhere, so allow five hours in total.

Walk through the village to the mill and the Estorãos river beach

Walk through the village to the mill and the Estorãos river beach

#5

2 hour

The journey takes one and a half hours each way.
It is entirely on the quiet roads of our village.

01

Along the village

We leave the estate gate and go down the tarmac road, after the bridge over the stream we turn left and follow the same village road to the T-junction, here the traffic is a little heavier but still not too heavy.

03

After swimming

After swimming and wandering along the river, you can return the same way. Or lengthen your journey a little by turning left at the roundabout in the middle of the path.

02

River beach

Turn right and follow the signs to the old bridge over the Estoraos River, next to which is a beach, an old mill and a nearby café serving sandwiches and snails in season. You can find a great place to swim if you cross the bridge and walk right along the river for about 15 minutes.

To the Santo Ovídio lookout point

To the Santo Ovídio lookout point

About a two-hour hike up the nearest mountain, with spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

01

Start

From the main gate of the estate, turn left along the main road, past the old 15th century Romanesque church, to a roundabout with a cross in the middle.

Take the first exit (straight on) along the stone wall. Don’t miss the first large Quinta house on the right – a beautiful building with history

02

Going down

After a while there is a tarmac road to the left of the mountain, take your time to climb to the top and admire the surroundings.

Then go back down the other road, turn left at the Moreira stone and soon you will be at the same roundabout with the cross.

Enjoy the quiet village streets.

01

Between the houses and along the streams

Exit the manor gate and walk down the tarmac road, turn left after the bridge over the stream and follow the same village road to the T-junction. To the right of the bus stop on the other side of the road are wide stone steps – follow them up to the village church.

02

The way back

From the church square go right to the roundabout with the tree in the middle, cross it and behind the village café you will see a narrow lane (don’t go backwards on the main road!) – follow it, it will lead you to a cross on a small patch of land, from where it is better to go up on the left, there you can go back through the nooks and crannies to our gate.

Walk around the Quinta

01

A walk before bed

Start your walk from the gate next to the upper reservoir and the raspberry patch – leave the gate and turn right, always straight ahead, the village road will take you to the square with the cross, from there you will go to the Roman chapel on the right and to the gate of our Vinte Quinta. This is a very short, easy and pleasant walk.
